Living on the edge: Recreation at a whole new level!

Published by ignitethemind under News Edit This

As humans have developed new technology and seemingly conquered more of the world. . .we have found increasingly daring ways of recreating in our triumphant spirit.

Mind you, there is nothing inherently wrong with this. . .just that humanity is finding new ways to be bold, to live life on the edge.

True, some do so with an heir of stupidity like these geniuses:

(Then again, they do provide us with some great hilarity!)

But what we’re really looking at is recreation taken to a whole new level. . .If you are not familiar with some of these fascinating and thrilling pastimes, check them out!

 Seagaia in Miyazaki, Japan

Tennis anyone? Helipad of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai

Walk on “thin” air: The Skywalk over the Grand Canyon

Its just a little roller coaster. . . Stratosphere Roller Coaster in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wanna go for a ride? Extreme mountain biking

What is it about humans that drives us toward such a rush?  We are the most logical creatures on this planet and yet we pursue such exhilarating and sometimes life-threatening pursuits.

Maybe it is because deep down we all realize that though we as humans have accomplished a great deal, we are comparatively insignificant when we think about how there are certain things, enormous things, that are out of our control: weather/natural disasters, time, death, etc.

Perhaps it is in this that we realize existing does not always mean playing it safe, and in  a very odd and paradoxical sense, risking life, the greatest thing that has been gifted to us, actually helps us to appreciate and live it even more vigorously. . .

Whatever the reason, there are loads of other extreme recreational activities out there if you are a thrill seeker.

These all look like a lot of fun, but if you are just looking for a little relaxation, feel free to go on a  nice, safe, and simple walk.
