Rod Blagojevich: One is the loneliest number
Can you hear it? I know I can. . .
One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It’s the loneliest number since the number one
No is the saddest experience you’ll ever know
Yes, it’s the saddest experience you’ll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two (lyrics by Three Dog Night)
In fact, if you can hear it too, we probably won’t be the only ones hearing it. I’m sure Blagojevich’s new inmate will be singing bass right along side him not long from now. But then again maybe I’m jumping to conclusions. . .at least that’s what Blagojevich says:
“Afford me the same rights that you and your children have — the presumption of innocence, the right to defend yourself.” (more on Blago’s reaction to his charges here )
Well, we’d love to Rod, except you see there’s this thing called a wiretap and the resulting affidavit that says this:
Later on November 3, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke with Advisor A.
By this time, media reports indicated that Senate Candidate 1, an advisor to the President-elect, was interested in the Senate seat if it became vacant, and was likely to be supported by he President-elect. During the call, ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated, “unless I get something real good for [Senate Candidate 1], s**t, I’ll just send myself, you know what I’m saying.”
ROD BLAGOJEVICH later stated, “I’m going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I’m saying.
And if I don’t get what I want and I’m not satisfied with it, then I’ll just take the Senate seat myself.” Later, ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated that the Senate seat “is a f***ing valuable thing, you just don’t give it away for nothing.”
Sorry Rod, its no wonder you are feeling pretty lonely right now. . .then again, that’s what happens when you try to be selfish. Haven’t you learned anything in office? Didn’t you learn how to share in kindergarten? Or maybe you sold your line leader position whenever it rolled around to be your turn. That’s ok though, I’m sure you’ll learn all about sharing in prison. . .
It’ll be interesting to see where this road leads for good ol’ Rod. My assumption is this thing will get strung out, as any good defense lawyer is paid to do, only to see the inevitable come down the pipe - Blagojevich sentenced. But maybe I’m wrong - for the sake of the Illinois people and the reputation of America - I hope I am. And if I am Rod, I will accept full responsibility for my assumptions. But truth be told. . .even an inkling of a thought of selling the Senate seat is deplorable, and I don’t think there is any denying that Mr. Blagojevich.
So say what you will, prove your innocence, but in the end, we all know what the real crime is

(and Donald Trump, don’t think your free and clear either)

Ha, I never thought about it… I don’t know which one has worse hair, Trump or Blaggy… Ha!
